The Zimbabwe Senior Women’s football team got off to a good start in their COSAFA Women Championship campaign following a 1 0 triumph over Lesotho in a match played at the Lucas Moripe Stadium, Pretoria South Africa.
The victory came against the odds as the Mighty Warriors have not been in action in the last 18 months due to the FIFA ban on the country which was only lifted in June this year.
Substitute Privilege Mupeti found the back of the net moments before the hour mark following a solo effort by the star.
Christabel Katona was also named player of the match in the victory.
The Mighty Warriors now focus their attention on Namibia their next opponents on Monday.
They complete their group match against Botswana two days later.
